R+L Carriers Opens New Alabama Service Center
08/11/23 Ohio-based R+L Carriers opens new facility in Huntsville, Alabama operational on August 11. This project entailed the construction of an 80,000-square-foot terminal, 100 freight dock doors, a six-bay maintenance facility, multiple offices and a fuel island.
The 50-acre facility is located at 290 Finney Road SW, just off Interstate 565, and will support operations in throughout North Alabama including Decatur, Muscle Shoals, Florence, Athens and South Tennessee. Although the facility is new to the Rocket City, R+L Carriers is no stranger to the region.
Since the early 1990s, R+L Carriers has served the freight transportation needs of North Alabama, said Greg Bronner, R+L Carriers VP of Marketing and Business Critical Sales. Given the increase in freight volumes in this market, this additional capacity supports the shipping public and reflects our continued commitment to grow with our customers in expanding markets and to maintain industry-best transit times.
The Huntsville, Alabama, service center opens with approximately one hundred full-time employees, including technicians, diesel mechanics, dock support, management trainees, clerical staff and customer service representatives.
