R+L Carriers Participates in 2015 World’s Largest Truck Convoy
Madison, Wisconsin 11/04/2015 - On September 19, truckers and law enforcement officers joined together to raise more than $137,000 for Special Olympics Wisconsin at the 11th Annual Worlds Largest Truck Convoy. R+L Carriers was honored to participate in this incredible event for the 7th year. The Worlds Largest Truck Convoy is part of a national effort to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics. This event also marks the end of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (Sept. 14-20) and honors some of Special Olympics biggest supporters - the men and women who move America.
R+L Carriers drivers joined the convoy with the Bose Ride Truck and Lima Company Memorial Hauler which won the 2014 Best in Show award at the same event. Escorted by local law enforcement Torch Run officials, the convoy ventured the 53-mile trip down scenic US Highway 41 to the concession party which took place at the EAA Grounds in Oshkosh.
The convoy featured a record 197 trucks representing 90 companies and the event raised a record $137,000 for the athletes that participate in Special Olympics Wisconsin. Over the past 11 years, Wisconsins Truck Convoy has raised more than $958,621.80 for Special Olympics Wisconsin with a total of 1,240 trucks! The Worlds Largest Truck Convoy continues to increase in popularity throughout the trucking community and now occurs in 26 states and four Canadian provinces.
