R+L Carriers enhances its nationwide logistics network in Ocala, Florida and Edinburgh, Indiana

6/26/2023 Wilmington, Ohio R+L Carriers is pleased to announce the opening of two new service centers located in Ocala, Florida, and Edinburgh, Indiana. These two service centers are designed to support operations by increasing capacity in these two markets while accommodating nationwide shipping demands.
To better serve our growing customer base, R+L Carriers has established new service centers in the strategic Ocala, Florida, and Edinburgh, Indiana, regions, said Greg Bronner, R+L Carriers VP of Marketing and Business Critical Sales. We anticipate these locations to become major shipping hubs for customers in their respective regions. This reflects our continued commitment to add capacity to support the shipping public, growing markets and increased supply chain demands.
Ocala, Florida
This facility is located at 1050 NW 44th Ave. in the Ocala International Commerce Park due to its central location and thriving economy. The terminal itself is nearly 445,000 square feet sitting amongst 50 acres of land.
The newly constructed service center has 180 freight dock doors, a four-lane fuel island and an eight-bay maintenance building. This facility is poised to increase capacity in Gainesville, Orlando, Tampa, Ocala and surrounding markets, as it is adjacent to I-75, one of central Florida's busiest shipping corridors. On June 12, business operations started with nearly 100 full-time employees.
Edinburgh, Indiana
Built in one of the nation's most robust transportation markets, this facility is renowned for its central location and prosperous business climate. The expansive property will fulfill demand in east-central and south Indiana markets, including Columbus, Bloomington, Seymour, Franklin, Whiteland and Plainfield. The Edinburgh service center will open on June 23 with roughly 120 full-time employees.
This project entailed the construction of a 101,000-square-foot terminal, 150 freight dock doors, an eight-bay maintenance facility, multiple offices and a fuel island. The 73-acre facility, located at 13245 N Executive Dr., sits alongside U.S. Route 31 in the Meadowlawn Industrial Park and provides nearly 120 full-time jobs for local residents.
